"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
what is man that thou art mindful of him?"

-- Psalm 8 4-5

The artist's name for this image is "a midwinter night's dream". Imagine a still, clear, cold night in deepest winter, with the celestial sphere visible with crystal clarity. A full moon sheds pale winter light. Dark trees are silhouetted against the snow and above we see the stars. Stars are not all the same color. If you gaze at the two brightest stars in Orion, you will see that Betelgeuse is reddish, while Rigel is blue-white. This color variation is seen in the starry cyber-heavens.

A comet appears, its bright tail pointing away from the invisible sun. And a meteor streaks across the sky in a fiery trail. A pale green band of the aurora borealis is seen.
